OLD IRVING PARK — It's a matchup made in hog heaven.

Local pitmasters and craft brewers are partnering for the inaugural Beer & BBQ Challenge, competing in a showdown that's sure to be as epic as it is tasty.

Ten teams will battle for beer and barbecue supremacy from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at 3644 N. Kedvale Ave. Tickets are available online for $60. The cost includes not only food and drink — each team will present a unique beer and barbecue combo, plus an additional brew — but also voting rights to decide Best Beer, Best BBQ and Best Beer and BBQ pairing.

Best name? Our money's on Porknado.

Porknado: Mike Sanders with John Barley of Solemn Oath Brewery

Proceeds benefit St. Viator school and parish.
