HYDE PARK — After an eight-month search, the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club has found its new executive director among its own ranks.

Sarah Diwan, the founder of the popular Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network and director of early childhood programs, will replace outgoing director Jennifer Bosch.

Diwan said she saw opportunities for expansion at the neighborhood club, 5480 S. Kenwood Ave., and would continue to steer the club down its current path.

During Bosch’s six-year tenure, the neighborhood club shifted its focus to programs for children and eliminated many of the activities for seniors, like a dining club, mah jongg and knitting groups.

“I am proud of how far HPNC has come in these past few years and that we are a strong, relevant institution,” Bosch said in an official announcement of her resignation. “Sarah has been an integral part of this growth and I know she’ll continue to build on my successes.”

Bethany Pickens, chairwoman of the board of directors, praised Bosch for getting the club back on stable financial footing.

“We are extremely grateful for her work and that in Sarah she identified such a qualified person to carry on her great work,” Pickens said.

Diwan took over as director on July 21.
