CHICAGO — Trains will be halted on the Green Line between the Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stations both Saturday and Sunday morning while crews work on the new Cermak-McCormick Place Station, the CTA announced.

Trains will not run between the two stations from 1:40 a.m., the regular beginning of service for the line, and 11:40 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the CTA said.

The CTA will provide shuttle service between stations and free transfers for riders back into the stations. Riders are advised to allow for longer travel times.

This weekend is the second of six through early September when service on the line will be disrupted for the project, CTA officials said. The next disruptions are scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 23.

The new Cermak-McCormick Place station, a $50 million construction project that broke ground in August, is expected to be completed by the end of the year, city officials said.
