NORTH CENTER — From funnel cakes to the 90-foot free falling Super Shot, the 66th annual Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club Carnival has something for everyone.

Running Thursday through Sunday at 3900 N. Rockwell St., the carnival features rides for people of all ages — from kiddies to thrill-seeking adults — plus food, games and music.

Hours are 6-11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the hours are from 2-11 p.m.

A tip for bargain hunters: $20 will get you unlimited rides on Thursday, and 2-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A "last blast" special on Sunday costs just $15 for unlimited rides 7-10 p.m.

New rides in 2014 include the Wacky Worm Roller Coaster and the Frog Hopper.

The music lineup is heavy on tribute bands: Saturday features the sounds of Rush, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, while Sunday closes with Kaleidoscope Eyes paying homage to The Beatles.

The carnival, which draws as many as 10,000 attendees, is NBGC's largest fundraiser, supporting programs for 1,500 children and youth each year.
