CHICAGO — Firefighters continue to battle a blaze Thursday evening at a one-story commercial building in Albany Park.
The fire began about 5:27 p.m. inside a building in the 3300 block of West Montrose Avenue, fire officials said.
As of 7:45 p.m., the building was still smoldering, and firefighters expected to be on the scene for at least another hour, said Fire Department Chief Verdi Allen.
At one point, the fire caused an explosion that blew out windows of businesses across the street.
No injuries were reported, and no one was inside the building, Verdi said. The building houses a business-to-business retailer, Chicago Import Inc.
