HYDE PARK — Jazz supporters will be the first to get a peek at the new Promontory venue in Hyde Park.
The Hyde Park Jazz Festival will host its annual benefit concert at 6 p.m. June 26 at the forthcoming restaurant and venue at 1539 E. 53rd St.
The Promontory is the new collaboration from Longman & Eagle chef Jared Wentworth and Empty Bottle owner Bruce Finkleman. An opening date has not yet been set.
The fundraiser for the annual September jazz festival will feature a rare collaboration of saxophonist Steve Wilson, pianist Renee Rosnes and bass player Peter Washington.
The trio has performed separately with Art Blakey, J.J. Johnson, Chick Corea and others but has only played rare sold-out shows in New York until recently.
The Promontory performance will be the trio’s first show together in Chicago.
Tickets start at $60 and are available at hydeparkjazzfestival.org/jazz-festival-gala/.
