IRVING PARK — Can't let go of "Frozen"? You don't have to.

Catch a free outdoor screening of the animated musical at dusk on Friday at Independence Park, 3945 N. Springfield Ave. Concessions will be available for purchase.

If classic movies are more your style, grab a blanket, pack a picnic and head to Gross Park, 2708 W. Lawrence Ave., for a free outdoor screening of "On the Waterfront," Saturday night. The film features an Academy Award-winning performance by Marlon Brando.

Other area events:

Ravenswood Manor Park, 4626 N. Manor Ave., kicks off its 20th season of free summer concerts on Friday. Diane Delin and Greg Pasenko Group will take to the stage at 7 p.m.

It wouldn't be summer without a weekend yard sale. The Greater Rockwell Organization takes its turn hosting a community-wide event, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Participating households are located within the boundaries of Western, Lawrence and Wilson avenues and the Chicago River. A map is available here.

Treat Dad to gourmet pancakes on Father's Day — but leave the cooking to someone else. The Greater Independence Park Neighborhood Association is serving up breakfast, 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Independence Park Bungalow at Hamlin Avenue and Byron Street. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children 12 and under.
