In the most recent shooting, a man drove himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital around 3:15 a.m. after being shot in the hand and foot. The man, whose age was unavailable, told police he was walking in the 4400 block of North Whipple Street when a man shot him.

He was listed in stable condition at Swedish Hospital and detectives are investigating, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was shot in the neck while sitting in the passenger seat of a car stopped at a red light at the intersection of 37th Street and Cottage Grove. The driver took the man to Mercy Hospital and he was then transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Greer said.
