COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A teen shot outside a South Side roller rink has already lost his left leg and is scheduled to have his right leg amputated after a bullet hit his aorta, cutting off the circulation of blood to his extremities, prosecutors said.

The 17-year-old was hanging out with friends outside The Rink, 1122 E. 87th St., after competing in a dance competition when a fight broke out on May 3, prosecutors said. They watched for a while as two groups battled.

Kevin Dameron, a 16-year-old involved in the fight, then gave the victim "a menacing look," prosecutors said in a bond hearing for Dameron Tuesday. Fearing that Dameron might punch him, the victim turned to go find a security guard.
