HYDE PARK — Police officers will be stopping drivers on Stony Island Avenue for safety checks on Friday night.

Officers will be stopping drivers at 7424 S. Stony Island Ave. from 8 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Saturday to perform random checks for intoxicated drivers.

Police are warning that traffic will be slow during the safety check.
