RAVENSWOOD — A "closed for maintenance" sign has had neighbors questioning the status of Troquet restaurant since April.

A Facebook message posted April 17 simply states: "Our deepest apologies, Ravenswood ... We are closed today due to maintenance. Thank you for your understanding."

"Closed today" has since extended into May with no additional information provided.

In response to a query from DNAinfo Chicago, co-owner Nicole Outrequin Quaisser would only say, "We do not give any statements other than that we are currently closed."

The restaurant, 1834 W. Montrose Ave., most recently failed a health inspection on Feb. 27, but passed a reinspection March 10.

A casual French bistro, Troquet opened in March 2012, replacing the beleaguered Wolcott's. A second Troquet location, at 111 W. Huron St., remains open.

Outrequin Quaisser and her husband Stephan formerly operated LM restaurant in Lincoln Square, which closed in July 2012 as the owners shifted attention to other properties. The LM Restaurant Group now includes the two Troquets, Brasserie by LM in the Essex Hotel, Bistronomic and LM Catering.
