CHICAGO — A woman pulled from Montrose Harbor late last month has died, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

Authorities said Cristal Garcia, 18, was found in the water, near the 500 block of West Montrose Avenue, about 2 a.m. on April 28. She was taken in critical condition to Weiss Hospital, reports said.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit and the Fire Department also conducted a search for another person reported in the water, but did not find anyone at first.

Later, the body of a man was recovered.

He was identified as Victor Martinez, 20, of the 2100 block of North Latrobe Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:35 p.m. April 29. An autopsy determined Martinez died of drowning and ethanol poisoning.

Garcia, of the 3600 block of South Paulina Street, was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m. Friday, the Medical Examiner's Office said.
