One Dead, 10 Wounded in Shootings

CHICAGO — One man was killed and at least 10 others wounded in shootings Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday.

A 34-year-old man was found shot to death in Chatham just after 2 a.m. Thursday. Officers discovered the man in the 8000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue.

In other shootings:

• Two men were shot during a fight in Uptown about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The victims were involved in a physical altercation with several men on the sidewalk in the 800 block of West Cuyler Avenue when someone pulled a gun and began shooting.

Four men were shot in a South Shore drive-by about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The victims were walking in the 7200 block of South Phillips Avenue when someone inside a passing SUV opened fire.

• In West Englewood, a man in his 30s was was shot in his hip during a drive-by in the 6500 block of South Paulina Street about 3:08 p.m., Wednesday, police said. The man was listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital.

• Earlier Wednesday, three people — including 14- and 17-year-old boys — were shot in East Garfield Park around 3:06 p.m.
