CHICAGO — A man was found fatally shot in the hallway of a building in Grand Crossing Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene in the 7800 block of South Ingleside Avenue around 6:15 a.m. and found the man unresponsive with a gunshot wound in his head, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

Quinton Jackson, 22, of the 100 block of East 103rd Street, was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Further details were unavailable.

The Wednesday homicide was the first since nine people were killed in a violent Easter Weekend that also wounded 35 people including an 11-year-old girl shot along with four other teens walking home from a park Sunday night.

At least eight people were shot Tuesday including a 14-year-old boy shot in Chicago Lawn.
