LINCOLN SQUARE — Following on the heels of the grand opening of the Ravenswood Mariano's, Tony's Finer Foods is moving closer to opening its Lincoln Avenue store, replacing the vacated Dominick's.

The company has a announced a two-day job fair, scheduled for 9 a.m.-noon and 3-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the store, 5233 N. Lincoln Ave.

Though ads for the job fair state the store is "hiring for all positions," the company clarified on Facebook that most of the available jobs are for part-time workers. There are a handful of unspecified full-time job openings, but the company said it preferred to "promote from within."

Dominick's parent company, Safeway, announced in October that it was pulling out of the Chicago market, closing 15 stores within the city's limits.

Plans are to reopen the store this spring, according to Tony's, which has indicated it will retain the store's coffee shop, though it will no longer serve Starbucks.

Headquartered in Itasca, Tony's operates 11 stores in the metro Chicago area. The family-owned company opened its first store at 3607 W. Fullerton Ave. in 1979.
