CHICAGO — A Jefferson Park man was charged with a hit-and-run over the weekend that left a 50-year-old woman in critical condition, police said.

Ciprian Tanase, 34, of the 5200 block of West Foster Avenue, was arrested Saturday after he was identified as the driver of a black car that struck a woman in the 5800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Norwood Park about 7 p.m. Sunday, according to a police statement.

Tanase, of the 5200 block of West Foster Avenue, was charged with three felonies — failure to report an accident, DUI on a revoked license, and aggravated DUI resulting in great bodily harm — and two misdemeanors. He was also charged with one count of negligent driving.

Tanase was arrested Saturday after the accident, and the 50-year-old woman was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Tanase was expected to appear in bond court Tuesday afternoon.
