SOUTH DEERING — A 24-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot Monday night on the South Side.

The 24-year-old man was a passenger in a vehicle driving in the 1600 block of East 95th Street about 7 p.m. Monday, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

Another car pulled up alongside the vehicle and someone inside the car opened fire, Sedevic said.

The 24-year-old was shot twice in his neck and was driven to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody for the shooting as of Tuesday morning, and authorities believe the shooting may be gang related.
