NORTH CENTER — The intersection of Lincoln and Warner avenues is about to get a major makeover with the addition of not one but two new bar and grills.

On the heels of the announcement that Little Fort Tavern will replace the former Glunz Bavarian Haus comes news that Rocks Bar Group, which operates pubs in Lakeview and Lincoln Park, will take over Corner 41 at 4138 N. Lincoln Ave.

Rocks Bar co-owner Tim Shepardson confirmed the purchase but offered no additional details in terms of plans for the space. If Rocks' two existing locations are any indication, the North Center sibling will place a heavy emphasis on beer, burgers and whiskey.

Corner 41 opened in 2010 as a revamped version of Cy's Steak and Chophouse, a frequent winner of the "best ribs" title at Ribfest Chicago. The restaurant has been unofficially shuttered since late 2013.
