MAYFAIR — The Weather Channel's new morning show, "AMHQ With Sam Champion," debuts on St. Patrick's Day with remote segments from Chicago's Irish American Heritage Center.

The live broadcast will feature Irish musicians and dancers performing in the Center's Fifth Province pub from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Members of the public are invited to be part of the audience at the Center at 4626 N. Knox Ave.

"AMHQ," which stands for America's Morning Headquarters, will be anchored by Champion from the Weather Channel's Atlanta studio. Champion signed on as the channel's managing editor after leaving "Good Morning America" in December, having served as that program's weather anchor for seven years.

The show will also feature reports from the Chicago River.
