Man Found Dead on Green Line Tracks Was Struck by Train: Autopsy

CHICAGO — The man found dead on the Green Line tracks near the Pulaski stop Saturday died after being hit a by a train, an autopsy determined.

A train operator saw the body Charles Watkins, 31, on the northbound tracks about 6:50 Saturday morning, CTA officials said.

Power was shut down in both directions, and passengers were shuttled between the California and Madison stations before service resumed about 8:45, she said.

CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said the train operated by the person who saw the body did not strike Watkins. No more information was available.
