
CHICAGO — At least six people were shot and wounded after a fight broke out at a South Austin party Sunday.
Two men got into an argument at a party in the 4900 block of West Race Avenue about 3:35 a.m., said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.
One of the men left, police said, and returned with a handgun and began shooting. At least six people were wounded.
A 20-year-old man is in serious condition at Mount Sinai Hospital after he was shot in his chest, back and leg, Sullivan said.
A 20-year-old woman is also listed in serious condition at Mount Sinai, after she was shot in her lower left leg. The victim was originally taken to Loretto Hospital and transferred to Mount Sinai.
Three males are listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital, Sullivan said: a 19-year-old shot in his upper arm, a 19-year-old shot in his left calf, and a 17-year-old shot in his "face area."
A 22-year-old man is in stable condition at Mount Sinai with a gunshot wound in his left leg, Sullivan said.
No one is in custody.
