THE LOOP — It started with a food truck and grew into a brick-and-mortar storefront in the Loop.

To trace the roots of Haute Sausage at 335 S. Franklin St. back even more, it really began in South Africa, where owner Rich Levy lived until age 13.

After moving to Chicago, he combined South African flavors with Midwestern sausage for his roaming food truck. It's grown into Haute Sausage, a restaurant Levy describes as "Afro-Midwest street food sausage."

The Loop hot spot is the latest stop for "Good in the Hood with Ted Brunson," who is taking viewers through a tour of Chicago's tasty spots.
