COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — It's not clear whether the burglar had a snack before ripping off a Bridgeport woman's TV in 2011, but prosecutors said the blood he left on her refrigerator led them to the culprit.

Thomas Wojtasik was arrested and charged with burglary more than two years after the fact when police matched the blood left on the fridge, prosecutors said Monday when the 42-year-old Brighton Park man appeared briefly in court.

Wojtasik cut himself on a broken window while sneaking into a home in the 3300 block of South Halsted Street on Dec. 5, 2011, prosecutors said. He left his blood on the refrigerator and made off with a big-screen television.

Prosecutors did not say whether anything was reported missing from the refrigerator.

Wojtasik was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
