Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town Wednesday

CHICAGO — On Wednesday in Lincoln Park and Old Town, catch a preview performance of a play, watch a screening of a new film or see a stand-up comedy performance.

Preview performance of "The Golden Dragon" at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave., 7:30 p.m.

Catch a performance of "The Golden Dragon," a play by German writer Roland Schimmelpfennig, before it has its regular run at the theater from Friday to Feb. 23. The preview is $10 in advance or pay-what-you-can at the door.

Screening of "Valhalla" at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 8 p.m.

The film "Valhalla" "is the tale of one man’s search to rediscover the freedom of his youth" and features ski and snowboard cinematography, according to film company Sweetgrass Productions. The screening, restricted to those 21 and older, is $10.

Nick Vatterott at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

Comedian Nick Vatterott, who's been seen on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and "Conan," performs at Zanies this week.

RSVP for Night Out in Old Town is due Wednesday

Wednesday is the last day to RSVP for the Old Town Merchants & Residents Association's next Night Out in Old Town, which takes place Thursday. The evening starts at Woodie's Flat, 1535 N. Wells St., for drinks and hors d'oeuvres at 6:45 p.m. Then it's on to the play "Solstice" at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells St. at 8 p.m. Tickets, which are $25, include hors d'oevres, drink specials and passes to the show.
