LINCOLN PARK — The deep freeze's timing couldn't have been worse for Lincoln Park's French toast hot spot, Batter and Berries.

Just a day before the restaurant was to be featured on "Check, Please!" on WTTW, Batter & Berries was closed down due to multiple burst water pipes.

The restaurant announced the news on Facebook Thursday, noting that five water pipes burst.

On Friday, the day the episode was set to air, the restaurant posted a note that some of the water pipes had been repaired, but it was now dealing with a leaky roof.

As of Friday the "major repairs" were complete, but the restaurant was still working on finishing up dry-wall repairs and cleaning up, according to a post on its Facebook page.
