LINCOLN SQUARE — Viva la revolución! Especially when it means free coffee.

Beans & Bagels, 2601 W. Leland Ave., is celebrating Día de la Revolución — Mexican Revolution Day — on Wednesday by serving free samplings of Mexican coffees. Get caffeinated to your heart's content while toasting the Nov. 20, 1910, revolt against dictator José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori.

Fill your mug with fair-trade, organic blends provided by the shop's roasting partners: Anodyne Coffee and Colectivo Coffee, both based in Milwaukee; Counter Culture Coffee from Durham, N.C.; and Kickapoo Coffee from Viroqua, Wis.

Chicago's own Bridgeport Coffee is contributing its El Triunfo roast, a medium-body coffee with chocolate flavors. The beans are imported from Cesmach Co-op, which operates out of the southern highlands of Chiapas, Mexico.

The coffee tasting will run from 3-5 p.m., with Beans & Bagels also whipping up some Mexican-influenced food for the occasion.
