Community Alert Issued After Burglaries in Hyde Park

CHICAGO — Police are warning residents in Hyde Park and surrounding neighborhoods about two burglaries in the area. 

At least two burglaries, near Hyde Park Boulevard and Cornell Avenue at 54th Street, occurred in daylight hours. Police said a man rings or knocks on the door before forcing his way in through the front or back and robbing the home, police said. 

The robberies occurred on Nov. 12 and Nov. 15, police said.

The man is described at a black male, 40-50 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-8, and weighing 150 to 180 pounds.
