KENWOOD — A 24-year-old man was hospitalized Monday night after he was shot during a drug deal, police said.
The man was buying drugs in the 1100 block of East 47th Street Monday about 7:15 p.m. when the seller pulled a gun and demanded the man's money, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokesman.
The gunman shot the man in his cheek after he could not produce enough cash, Greer said.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized. No one was in custody in connection with the shooting as of Tuesday morning.
