JEFFERSON PARK — Residents of the Far Northwest Side who have questions about the Affordable Care Act will be able to get some answers at a seminar Saturday hosted by Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Chicago.)
The seminar, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coperincus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave., is designed to help educate the public about health insurance options now available as part of the law, also known as "Obamacare."
Experts on the law, known as navigators, will be on hand to answer questions about the 165 plans offered by six private insurers through the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace, Get Covered Illinois.
While residents won't be able to enroll in a plan, they will be able to schedule an appointment with an expert and hear a presentation on the new law at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
The presentations will also address technical glitches that have hampered millions of potential new insurance customers who’ve flooded federal websites since enrollment began Oct. 1, said Tim Nazanin, a spokesman for Quigley.
