IRVING PARK — Lunch just got a lot more interesting now that Bread & Wine is open for the midday meal.

Beginning Oct. 8, the Irving Park eatery, 3732 W. Irving Park Rd., will serve lunch Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The menu was created by chef Michael Dean Reynolds, who's been at the helm of Bread & Wine's kitchen since May. Those familiar with the restaurant's dinner offerings will find that a handful of items are now doing double duty at lunch: cheese and charcuterie, the beef and chorizo burger and the popular salted caramel popcorn panna cotta.

Those in the mood for lighter bites will find a number of new salad and sandwich options, several of them vegetarian friendly. Highlights include a roasted beet and barley salad, as well as a Cuban roll piled high with country ham, bacon and smoked pork loin.

Prices range from $16 for the burger to $10 or less for most sandwiches and salads.
