LINCOLN SQUARE — Why should Munich have all the Oktoberfest fun?

The DANK Haus Trachten Pub Crawl, Oct. 5, offers one more chance to strap on the lederhosen and dirndls and drink copious amounts of beer (trachten is German for traditional Bavarian dress). Those who'd prefer to skip the costume but still partake of the libations are welcome to join in, too.

The crawl will hit five neighborhood pubs, starting at Laschet's Inn, 2219 W. Irving Park Rd., which has been serving up German-American food and spirits since 1971.

Revelers will gradually drink their way toward Lincoln Square. No surprise, the crawl's final destination is the Chicago Brauhaus, 4732 N. Lincoln Ave., where, word has it, yodeling contests are a distinct possibility.

The crawl begins at 2:30 p.m. and costs $10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
