ANDERSONVILLE — It's official: the Crew crew is taking over T's.

After weeks of speculation, Crew Bar and Grill co-owner Mark Robertson confirmed this week that his team will be taking over the space that once housed T's Bar, 5025 N. Clark St.

T's, a 12-year nightlife staple popular among Chicago lesbians, closed abruptly in March after its owner failed to pay rent for several months.

Robertson was tight-lipped on details on his plans for the space, but said he would make an official announcement later this week.

In addition to Crew4804 N. Broadway, Robertson's team also owns the SoFo Tap, 4923 N. Clark St.

"It's exciting to have local, independent development," said Ellen Shepard, executive director of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. "We know that they're strong business owners, and it's great to have them opening another business in the area."

T's is part of a commercial corridor that is technically in Uptown, but is considered by some locals to be part of Andersonville.

Last Saturday, Crew reopened its doors after undergoing a nearly $100,000 makeover in honor of its 10-year anniversary.
