CHICAGO — Shootings across the city Friday left three people — including two teens — dead and two others wounded.
The most recent fatal shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Honore Street in West Englewood, said Officer Daniel O'Brien, a police spokesman. The victim was walking on the sidewalk when an unknown gunman opened fire.
Brenden Temple, 21, of the 4000 block of South Indiana Avenue, was shot multiple times in his head and rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:18 p.m. Friday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Shortly before, at 6:10 p.m., an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in his arm and chest in the 2200 block of East 71st Street in South Shore, police said. Jaleel Pearson, of the 6800 block of South Artesian Avenue, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 6:59 p.m. Friday, according to authorities.
A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head about 1:36 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Vernon Avenue in Grand Crossing, said Officer Veejay Zala, police spokesman.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene at 2 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said. He was later identified as Tommy McNeal of the 7200 block of South Rhodes Avenue.
In non-fatal shootings, a man was shot in the foot about 1:52 p.m. in the 3700 block of North Mobile Avenue in Portage Park. The man's age and condition were unknown, police said.
A person was also shot in a police-involved incident in North Park, officials said. The victim was shot near the intersection of West Roscoe Street and North Lavergne Avenue, and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.
Earlier, three people were killed and 19 wounded in shootings overnight. One shooting in a South Side park injured 13 people, including a 3-year-old boy, officials said.
