NORWOOD PARK — At last year's Norwood Park Chamber Fall Fest, there wasn't much for children and teenagers to do while their parents listened to music and sampled local beers, chamber executive director Bea McDonough said.

But this year's festival, which will take place from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park, 6008 N. Northwest Highway, will be packed full of activities for kids, including crafts, a movie and three bounce houses.

"I've got kids and I wanted them to have a great time," McDonough said.

From noon to 7 p.m., three bounce houses will keep children flying. There will also be face painting and a balloon-animal artist on hand, McDonough said.

Friendship Presbyterian Church will host indoor crafts — including pumpkin decorating — for children from 1-5 p.m., and the night will end with an outdoor showing of "Wreck It Ralph" — with free popcorn, McDonough said.

"It should be a really good time," McDonough said.

The fest will showcase several local business, including the newly opened Iron Horse Ale House, and Dish Dine and Drink.

In addition, several food trucks, including Toasty Cheese, will be on hand to make sure no one goes hungry.

Seven bands are scheduled to perform, including Strain Blue Sky and Inbound Kennedy.
