CHICAGO — A motorcyclist died after being struck by a car in Chinatown Monday night, police said.

The 36-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Lawrence Talbert by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, was driving east in the 300 block of West Cermak Road when he was hit by a car turning left onto Cermak Road from Archer Avenue, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The crash happened about 11:20 p.m., Sullivan said.

Talbert, of the 4600 block of South Drexel Boulevard, was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead at 11:42 p.m., according to the morgue.

The woman driving the car was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way, Sullivan said.
