DOWNTOWN — Seventy years after celebrating their wedding weekend in Chicago at the Palmer House Hilton, Elna and Elton Anderson returned to the city Tuesday and were honored by staff at the historic hotel.
Hotel staff formed a tunnel for the couple — who were joined by their two daughters — and sang "Happy Anniversary" to the tune of the "Happy Birthday" song.
The couple previously returned to their honeymoon hotel for their 65th wedding anniversary.
