CHICAGO — Two teenagers were shot in apparent drive-by shootings on the South Side Monday afternoon, police said.

An 18-year-old man was struck in his right arm about 5:51 p.m. in Gage Park, said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman. The teen, who was shot near the intersection of South Oakley Avenue and West 50th Street, was treated at Mount Sinai Hospital.

In Grand Boulevard, a 14-year-old boy was shot in his left leg about 1:40 p.m. during a drive-by in the 4700 block of South Indiana Avenue, Zala said.

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he's listed in "stable condition."

Police sources said the 14-year-old has known gang ties, and his shooting may have been gang related.
