CHICAGO — A woman was found dead in an LA Fitness pool in Lakeview Thursday morning, officials said.
Police were called to the gym at 2828 N. Clark St. at 11:38 a.m. for an unresponsive woman, authorities said.
Ok Im Kim, believed to be in her 80s, was floating in the gym's pool and had possibly drowned, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Kim, of the 900 block of West Lawrence Avenue in Uptown, was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:07 p.m.
A person reached by phone at the LA Fitness Thursday night referred calls to the Chicago Police Department.
The case is proceeding as a death investigation, police said.
