NORTH CENTER — For those still coveting Crayola's 64-pack with built-in sharpener, here's your chance to pay it forward.
The 47th Ward office is collecting school supplies for the neighborhood's needy children through Aug. 19 at 4243 N. Lincoln Ave.
Requested items include pens and pencils, notebooks and folders, scissors, pocket calculators, three-ring binders and hand sanitizer. Backpacks to hold supplies would also be appreciated.
The ward office is partnering with Ravenswood Community Services and Common Pantry to distribute the supplies.
