CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in Chicago Lawn Thursday, officials said.

The man, 27, was shot in his chest about 3:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Jeremiah Brown, of the 6200 block of South Albany Avenue, was pronounced dead on the scene about 5:30 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

Another man whose age was unknown was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital about 3:52 p.m. with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said. He was hit by a car involved in the incident, police said.

A beige sedan sat at the scene of the shooting, near a Walgreens drive-through across the street from a popular liquor store, with a bullet hole in its windshield Thursday evening.
