CHICAGO — A woman had to be cut from the wreckage of her car Tuesday after she crashed into a double-parked car in Bridgeport, police said.

The 43-year-old woman was driving a 2009 Honda CRV when she struck a double-parked 2008 Honda Civic in the 700 block of West 26th Street sometime before 9:25 a.m., said Officer John Mirabelli, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Her car flipped on its side, and firefighters had to pry it open to get her out, Mirabelli said.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, said Chicago Fire Department Chief Joe Roccasalva. Mirabelli said her condition stabilized.
