ANDERSONVILLE — Early to Bed plans to open its new store Wednesday after announcing earlier this summer that the popular sex toy shop was moving from Edgewater to Andersonville.
Charismatic Early to Bed owner Searah Deysach acknowledged that "Edgewater had been really good to me," over the store's dozen years at 5232 N. Sheridan Road.
"But the move to a more commercial area had been a long time coming," she said.
The new location at 5044 N. Clark St. is in a bustling retail strip with abundant street parking.
Early to Bed’s website said the shop has plans Saturday night for a “big party to celebrate the new space!”
Early to Bed invited folks to a "Grand Re-Opening Party," to “join us for drinks, bites and raffle prizes,” and “come check out the sparkly floors and our well-loved arsenal of quality sex toys and gear.”
Early to Bed’s services go beyond just serving up sex toys.
It touts itself as Chicago's "first woman-owned and women-oriented sex shop," and gives sensual pointers on its website and throws "PleasureWare Parties," for groups to peruse toys from home. Early to Bed also runs private educational workshops about sexual topics.
