ANDERSONVILLE — Popular sex toy shop Early to Bed is moving to Andersonville this summer after 12 years in Edgewater.
Early to Bed owner Searah Deysach says she is planning to move the store from its current location at 5232 N. Sheridan Rd. to 5044 N. Clark St. in July.
In a Facebook message, Deysach said: "Edgewater had been really good to me, but the move to a more commercial area had been a long time coming and everything seemed to just fall together with this space."
The store currently sits in an area that more residential than the thriving Andersonville retail strip the owner plans to join. Deysach said she was thrilled to be a part of Andersonville, where she said she spends a lot of her free time.
"I have been thinking about moving there for years (and customers have been suggesting it) but the timing was never right," she said. "Then I kind of magically found this awesome space on a block I love and it all clicked! So here we go!"
Early to Bed, which bills itself as Chicago's "first woman-owned and women oriented sex shop," doesn't just deal in toys. The store offers sexual advice on its website and throws "PleasureWare Parties," where groups can shop for toys from the comfort of home.
The store also conducts private workshops featuring "great in-depth education" on a variety of topics, according to its website.
