Man Charged After Climbing Through Window to Sexually Assault Girl

CHICAGO — An Albany Park man has been hit with sexual assault charges after he allegedly climbed into a girl's room and sexually abused her, police said Saturday.

Edwin Hernandez, 30, of the 4600 block of North Lawndale Avenue was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and home invasion involving a sex offense. He is expected in court tomorrow.

Police said Hernandez climbed through a window into a young girl's room in a home in the 4800 block of North Ridgeway Avenue between 2 and 3 a.m. on Sunday, June 16.

Once inside, he sexually abused the sleeping girl, police said.
