CHICAGO — University of Chicago student Austin Hudson-LaPore, 20, has been missing from Hyde Park since Wednesday, police said.
Hudson-LaPore is 5-foot-7, weighs 110 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and black gym shoes. Police said Hudson-LaPore may frequent the lakefront area.
Lapore's aunt, Leigh LaPore, said family believes the biochemistry student might have stepped out of his off-campus apartment to view the aftermath of strong storms that moved over the city Wednesday. He left his wallet, smartphone and I.D., but took his apartment keys.
LaPore said her nephew is not depressed, nor the type of student who would have enemies.
"There's no reason that he would be likely to do anthing to himself or someobody [would] against him," LaPore said. "He's one of these science brains...he loves school...doesn't drink, doesn't party."
