CHICAGO — Construction equipment worth about $50,000 was stolen, along with some laptops, from a site near Millennium Park sometime over the holiday weekend, police said.
Surveying equipment and three IBM Thinkpad laptops were stolen from an office at the Daley Bicentennial Park construction site, 337 E. Randolph St., said Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.
The equipment was worth about $50,000, Sullivan said.
At least one burglar got into the office at the construction site by breaking through a window, Sullivan said. The burglary happened sometime between 4:30 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Tuesday, when workers returned from the Memorial Day weekend.
No suspects are in custody for the crime.
