CHICAGO — A speeding motorcyclist slammed into a car in South Shore late Friday, killing himself and the driver of the car he broadsided, police said.

The man on the motorcycle was riding at a "high rate of speed" when he crashed into the car in the 1400 block of East 75th Street, said Officer John Mirabelli, a police spokesman.

The car's driver — Andre McClure, 52, of the 7500 block of South Cregier Avenue — was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The motorcycle's driver died on the scene, Mirabelli said. The man was pronounced dead in the morgue at 4:10 a.m. Saturday.

The motorcyle driver was later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Reginald Timmons. He was in his 30s.
