CHICAGO — Tuesday night's classes were canceled at Kennedy King College after a report of a person with a gun headed to the campus, which was later found to be false, police said.

Classes were canceled "out of an abundance of caution," said Chicago Police spokesman Adam Collins in a statement.

The report of the person with a gun was made about 5 p.m., police said.

The campus, at 6301 S. Halsted St. in Englewood, was open Tuesday night and classes were scheduled to resume Wednesday morning, the statement said.
