UPTOWN — Northbound Red Line trains won't be stopping in Uptown or Edgewater Friday night and this weekend, according to an alert from the Chicago Transit Authority.

From 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, trains headed north toward the Howard station will skip the Wilson, Lawrence and Argyle stations in Uptown, as well as the Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations in Edgewater.

CTA said the service changes are necessary as it performs track and signal improvements on the Red Line.
