Glazed and Infused to Bring Hundreds of Doughnuts to Sol Cafe

By Benjamin Woodard | April 12, 2013 3:44pm

ROGERS PARK — Sol Cafe and Glazed and Infused, the popular purveyor of the bacon-laced maple bars, are teaming up Saturday to bring a doughnut pop-up shop to the neighborhood.

The doughnut company — which has four locations, none of them north of Lincoln Park — will bring 250 doughnuts to Sol Cafe, 1615 W. Howard St., in what it calls a doughnut pop-up.

"This is a chance to give people a taste of something they don’t have up here," said cafe owner Simone Freeman.

And those who spread the word about it on Twitter or Facebook get a cup of coffee for just $1, said Sol Cafe owner Simone Freeman.

Doughnuts will go on sale at 8 a.m., and the pop-up shop will close when supply runs out.

Glazed and Infused was honored by Zagat earlier this week as being one of nine "game-changing" doughnut shops around the country.

"With weekly and seasonal specials that change constantly," reads Zagat's review, "you know these doughnuts are special as soon as you bite into them."
